BIC Euronova - SmartAgrifood
Project
BIC Euronova takes part as partner in the European project SmartAgriFood, within the 7th Framework Project, aimed at SMEs in the ICT sector that develops applications for the agro-food sector.
Last September 15, the accelerator SmartAgriFood officially launched an open call for 4, 000,000 € for SMEs and web entrepreneurs to develop a new generation of applications and services for intelligent agriculture with FIWARE technology.
SmartAgriFood has been submitted in different national forums held in Sevilla, Toledo, Madrid, as well as in Málaga.
These new ICT products will be designed for use by farmers, stockbreeders, and, in general, food producers to help them to increase the productivity and minimize their environmental footprint. Intelligent machines, sensor networks and intelligent ICT solutions are significant factors for the future of the agro-food sector.
The SmartAgriFood accelerator wants to face the lack of intelligent ICT adapted to livestock and the agricultural use in general. The applications must use FIWARE technologies (an innovative infrastructure based on the “Open Cloud” for the cost-effective creation, and the application and internet services delivery of the future) and also they must distributed through Flspace platform (an integrated collaboration system).
