BIC in Spain (ANCES)
Founded in 1994, it came up with the idea of promoting economic and industrial development through the BICs, providing expertise on the creation of new Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) based on innovative elements with development potential.
Currently, BIC Euronova (BIC of Málaga) is the headquarters of ANCES and it is presided by Álvaro Simón de Blas, Chariman of BIC Euronova.
ANCES is presented as the framework for its 28 members to provide the systems, services and activities that contribute to the achievement of its objectives with maximum efficiency and professionalism, and driving through the support and dissemination of BICs , innovation and diversification of productive activities, technological progress and economic development.
What is ANCES?
ANCES or National Association of European Business and Innovation is an entity with legal personality and non-profit, whose operation is governed by the Ley de Asociaciones 1/2002 del 22 de marzo (Associations Act, 2002).
It is made up of 28 members spread throughout Spain and its activity is the institutional representation and the establishment of a cooperative for its members.
Its main projects include:
Innovative Technology-Based Companies (EIBT´s) aimed at supporting the creation and subsequent consolidation of additional EIBTs, spreading these companies and concepts throughout the BIC and ultimately, throughout Spain.
BioANCES - BioANCES acts in collaboration with Genome Spain; these projects aim to develop a program of actions to support the creation of new business initiatives in the biotechnology sector, making a special effort in outreach activities, dissemination and training essential to the consolidation of an emerging business sector.
Also, ANCES collaborates with a large number of organizations, both public and private, thus fulfilling the mission of the association to represent its members and defend their interests together. It is in touch with the following entities:
